| !!! WARNING !!! to anyone thinking about converting a beetle, the front steering components will not handle the weight of 6 US-125 batteries (432 lbs). The lower ball joint on the right completely broke, luckily at less than 10mph, not at highway speed 5 minutes earlier! I will post pictures on my web site. ( WebPage ) I would recommend not as much weight up front, or finding another setup to handle the weight. Update: I moved 3 of the batteries from the front to just behind the seats. The suspension seems to handle the weight better. | |
