Austin Energy Electric Vehicle Conversion Rebate

AustinEV and Austin Energy are pleased to announce the Electric Vehicle Conversion Rebate program.

As of May 23, 2007, any Austin Energy customer who has purchased a newly converted electric vehicle or who has completed a conversion themselves may apply to receive up to a $250.00 rebate from Austin Energy. This groundbreaking move matches the efforts that Central Texas Clean Cities and Austin Energy have made in supporting production, neighborhood and low speed electric vehicles, scooters and bicycles. Indicating that the EV conversion specialist and EV enthusiast can also be a part of this clean air and alternative fuel transportation solution. Progress towards a sustainable future for our Austin, TX communities is the priority.

To apply for your rebate, please download the [rebate application] (free adobe reader) and submit it to Austin Energy upon the completion of your vehicle.

Application Guidelines

1. The applicant must be an Austin Energy electric customer.
2. The applicant intends to live in the Austin Energy service area for a minimum of five years.
3. The all-electric conversion must be completed on or after May 23, 2007.
4. The applicant may receive $250 for an all-electric conversion.
5. Rebate funding is limited and offered on a first-come, first-served basis.
6. The final rebate level will be determined after Austin Energy verifies the electric vehicle is a qualifying conversion.
7. The current rebate is valid for the life of the program (May 23, 2007 to May 23, 2009) or until the program funds are expended, whichever occurs first.
8. The rebate application must be submitted within sixty (60) days of vehicle completion.
9. Approved participants will receive the rebate check six (6) to eight (8) weeks from the date the application is approved.
10. Austin Energy reserves the right to perform a one-time spot inspection to verify the purchase is a qualifying electric vehicle.
