This is the type of vehicle I am researching also.

Subject: Re: [ausev] EV w/300 mile range

This kind of super-range is what I am working on.

I am building off of a recumbent tricycle chassis, then adding a lot of
aerodynamic enhancements and limiting its speed to 20+ mph. I am
shooting for a range of 200 miles, since 10 hours travel time is about
the maximum time I could stand driving.

The trike is a delta style (2 wheels rear) Lightfoot Courier with a high
payload capacity, so it has the ability to carry the kind of battery
load I would need for the job, whereas bikes become a bit unmanageable
when too heavily loaded. The additional stability is also useful for
long hauls, since balancing a bike takes some mental effort and fatigue.
The aerodynamics make the vehicle more susceptible to crosswinds,
which is another reason I am designing away from a 2-wheeler.

I should have my one of my Valence Saphion batteries by late next month,
and hopefully I can start doing some test drives to shake it down
shortly after. Final build-out should use 2 such batteries with a
second Courier hitched to the rear to carry a second passenger for
transcontinental jaunts.

Why Hybrid Technologies thinks they need a car that can drive 100 mph is
beyond me. Isn't that illegal? But who can account for some people's
needs? I reckon some folks would consider 20 mph too slow, but I am
starting from a human-power standpoint, wherein 20 mph is quite brisk,
especially if it can be done all day, day after day. As it is, I can
only put in about 50 miles a day pedaling at 11 mph average, given a
regular cargo and provisions load.
