From: Dan Petit. I've checked to see if there is any archived service
procedure on the battery pack replacement for the 97 Electric Ranger from
Covert Ford service manager, Mr. Webb. He advised me that Leif Johnson Ford
"were certified to do it". [Ten years ago].
But he said he'd look into it to see if there were any archived service
procedures in the interest of safety.
And, also, he would additionally check to see if it would be something that
they would be able to handle if you wanted. [Seeing as they likely may have
any specially- designed service equipment, or access to it if there were no
other options]. I suggested that he also check with the Covert's (owners)
to see if there may be some avenue of promotional value to increase sales
of hybrids, if not help put forward grassroots interest in plug-in
gaselectrics
from Ford Motor, all in light of having the work done as an offset for the
promotional value for hybrids and future gaselectrics/plug-ins, depending on
interest of the owners as well as yourself. But at least, for the
considerations of safety, he is doing some archival research.
Dan Petit.
