[ausev] Little Car

The short answer is yes, I will definitely be working on my car this
weekend - there are still a few things to do before it's a daily
commuter =) My goal is to map out where the major components will go and
start clearing up the tangle of wiring from this kit and finding the
three wires out of the original harness that I still care about. There
is some smaller stuff to work on, some painting here and there, and a
little more head scratching on the rear battery rack to get it to fit.
Are there any other projects that need attention to help make it to
Fredericksberg? Tom? Anyone else? I can volunteer some time on Saturday.
I will be outside working on my Cabby 9:30 am Sunday until 5 or so, but
I don't need to be the official Open Garage of the weekend. I'm not
trying to hog the help! Chances are I'll also be out for a good chunk of
Saturday as well but I'm not sure what times yet.
Erik

To the Group:
ERIK HAS NOT SAID YET IF THERE WILL BE AN OPEN GARAGE THIS WEEKEND.
I just realized the e-mail I just sent sounded like Erik had definitely
said there would be an open garage this weekend, sorry Erik & Sarah
(sp?). If there is, I'll be happy to help! Hope this has not caused
any confusion!!!

I can help Sunday (27th?). I'd be excited if it was "on the road again"
for the Roundup (& it's not even my car)!! How does the primer look? I
like the name, Little Car. Have fun!

We got a good amount done Sunday:
-fixing rusted through front rack
-scraping rust and sandblasting front battery racks
-priming front battery racks
-rebuilding both rear struts with heavier shocks and springs
-welding up funky bracket to mount shift linkage to new manual steering
rack
-painting said funky bracket
-finishing cutting for rear battery rack (I think! It's not in yet)
Thanks for all the help this weekend from Chris, Tanda and Vivek. My big
goal is
to get the car on the road for the Renewable Energy Roundup at the end
of
September. There's still a sizeable amount of work to do, but things are
looking bright.
