Good choice I think. I have some detailed questions (later)
for things I've wanted to know about the RAV.
-Remember to discharge freon (if you do that kind of thing)
while you can drive it to a service station.
-I built a mechanics jig out of two 2x12 planks with ramps;
raised with cinder blocks. I drove the vehicle up on the
planks and it really helped with accessibility. Check
engine hoist height first though.
-I was able to sell my engine on ebay for $200. It took
some patience but eventually happened.
-Regen braking by AC motors is no panacea. I have an AC
system and my Regen works great, but I have my doubts about
how well the energy recovery compensates for the added
weight of more batteries.
Does your RAV transmission look like a rear-wheel-drive
tranny with a coaxial transfer case, or does it look like a
front-wheel-drive tranny? Is the drive to the rear wheels
or front wheels?
