I think we should probably drop this as drifting way off topic for the 
list. 

Transportation has many options and opportunities for improvements.  The 
important thing is that we begin to find alternatives to our current 
system of oil dependence. 

In this case, this list is dedicated to plug-in vehicles, I posted the 
original article because it was an easy to understand example of how 
well to wheel efficiency is a complicated thing to calculate, and is a 
question we often get when presenting electric vehicles to the public.
