If I understand you right, it sounds like a job for an automotive relay,
which you can buy at an auto parts store.  Probably 2 or 3 in your case,
since they're usually 30-40A. (I think I still have a couple 70A 12V
relays, but they're PCB-mount, not automotive with the faston tabs.)

Anyway, you'd just need a really thin wire up to the keyswitch (or any
other wire that's hot when the car's on) to power the relay coils, which
draw very little current. Then your big supply wire would go to the
relays' contacts, which would be wherever you want to mount them.
