Chris,
Regarding your last advice, that if I'm worried, that EV's are not a good
hobby for me.
Okay.
Well, of course, when an 8 inch motor is right there between your legs,
turning at several thousand RPMs,
at 50 miles per hour (what could possibly go wrong about that?) and no-one
else has designed one before which has come to market, isn't it
understandable to inquire what might be the things to design-in for safety?
I consider this much more seriously than a hobby. EV's are our very
serious future! It is the safety of others whom might do the same thing,
so, I have a sense of responsibility.
I am sure that you don't disregard safety, or my need to completely explore
safety to my own set of standards.
If I ask too many questions of you or others regarding safety, and it
seems I have, then perhaps I should discontinue this project for now.
I won't compromise my safety or the safety of others if it just works out
that it all gets right the first time, and, someone else emulating it does
not have the technical detail you or I posess, and gets something
tragically wrong. I'd rather wait for an industry-standard EV, and help
everyone in the club whereever and however I can.
That's the most fun when I can help someone else anyway, and I'm having the
time of my life doing it too.

Dan.
