Thanks to Chris' help last night I got my motor balanced, and it was
surprisingly quick. It runs really smoothly now! We were talking about
getting my car put back together for next weekend, and my remembered I
wanted to give my comm a little attention. I don't know a lot about DC
motors, but I know my comm isn't pretty right now

It looks a lot like the third picture in "Commutator burning caused by
arcing and sparking." I don't think it's actually being abused, as this is
pretty standard service for an 8" ADC motor. I checked one of the brushes
too and it had similar streaks to the comm but none of the other myriad
problems the page shos. I remember people talking about using a comm stone
to heal ugly comms. Anyone locally know how to do this? Do I drop the motor
off at a motor shop or is this something I can do myself?
Thanks,
Erik
