Rob,
If you would like to consider 30 seconds or so regarding the technically-ridiculous number of 538,000 electronic systems used in Internal Combustion, and, the economic impossibilities from the technical side in dealing with them, as a comparison to the relatively stable EV, please feel welcome to let me know.
I train shop techs in how to diagnose electronic emissions systems in gasoline engines.
People are fed up with the way that all these systems fail, and now, we are finding out that if lightning strikes close to a vehicle that has, say, 17 computers, 5 of them get damaged by the electromagnetic pulse to the tune of about $4,000 and up. If not under warranty or the dealer can't fix them all, then these vehicles will go 'round and 'round at auctions being "black holes" for money at about $1,000 a go-round.
(The smaller you make memory chips, and, the more programming you cram onto them, the easier that anything can blast their microscopic instructions away. It is a financial disaster now currently showing up).
( I am planning an electric motorcycle. Three wheels (two close together in the rear) will make it more stable than 2.
But there will not be anything to show in the next few months, however.)
Let me know if this is of interest.
