[ausev] Why are converted vehicles excluded from this list?

I just sent the following email to Stacy Neef at Austin Cit Connection.
We have recently purchased a Myers Motors NmG from Electric Cars of Austin.

The NmG is total electric and is a highway commuter car that cruises at 75 MPH. It was purchased November of 2006 so the 60 days have past; however, we were curious why this vehicle is not on the list.

Additionally, we are members of the Austin EV club and were curious why conversions are not included in the program.

Two interesting things of note on that car list (aside from conversions not being there):

1) Under eligible cars, the Myers Motors NmG isn't listed. which essentially means there is no highway-capable car listed (correct me if I'm wrong). Are they pushing to not qualify vehicles capable of traveling on roads with higher speed limits?

2) The Vectrix maxi scooter (which is highway capable) is listed. Who in Austin is selling this? I wanted to buy one of these six months ago, and I believe they started offical sales (at least in Italy) about a month ago.

Folks,

The details of a rebate program from Austin Energy have been released. Why aren't conversions listed? Who put this list together? What kind of active do we need to be so that the home builder/conversion buyer is no longer excluded from these opportunities? If a conversion is professionally done or recently done, why shouldn't it too be included?

While I appreciate that the rebates are being offered and it is a step forward... this cuts out a significant group of EV drivers. Do we need to be writing to council? Are they informed? Does it matter? Obviously the exposure that we have had to Austin Energy staff/ Renewable Energy Roundup folk is of little to no value. Where do we need to be focusing our efforts?
