[ausev] Open garage, more weird stuff going on

I haven't done one of these updates in a long time, because I've been
bummed about making only slightly more than zero progress on my truck
project and even less progress (actually zero) on my website. I've taken
some noteworthy steps recently though and I'm hoping I can turn this
into some positive momentum.
Last Saturday I got the brace moved over to the driver side of the frame
now that the passenger side is done and closed, and then after some
measurement, nervous second guessing and root beer burping managed to
get the section of the frame on that side marked and torched out.
Tomorrow will be the push to splice the homemade replacement into the
gap and hopefully get it welded in place. From there, beyond aesthetic
touch-ups to make the attachments more attractive, the frame part of the
job will be practically done and I can start focusing on installing the
4-link suspension and rear axle. When the axle, brakes, wheels, link
bars and airbags are in place I'm going to feel much better about the
project, as it will start looking more like it's going to eventually be
a vehicle, one that's supposed to roll.
After the suspension is done, I can work out mounting the Warp13, and
subsequently put the cab back on the body. That's going to feel great
too, though I think it's pretty far in the future.
Come on over, if you want to see any of this stuff going on (check the
AustinEV calendar for details). It's still not really normal EV stuff at
the moment, but sources claim it's pretty amusing from 3rd person to
watch me swearing over it. Supposedly it'll be a little chilly but
hopefully I can keep the garage door open. Bonus -- RD "He Who Rocks
Totally" Childers magnanimously assisted with clutter compression and
clearing some space in the garage so there's actually some room for
"people" now. I guess I need chairs.
