[ausev] Off Topic: More efficient ICE

I know this is an EV forum, but perhaps there is some crossover interest. While I wait for a better oppurtunity to join the EV world, I would like to make my ICE vehicle more feul efficient. Besides obvious things like keeping the tires properly inflated and so on, the only straightforward fix I have found is to put on a plastic housing that will force more air through the air filter. This combined with an appropriately sized muffler is supposedly good for 10 to 20% more effieciency.

I don't know if it's really that good, but more is better and it's a relatively easy thing to do. (vs. pulling out the motor entirely etc...)

Does anyone else know of things that can be done? Aftermarket kits etc... Is there another e-mail list or forum I should join?
