Gary, thanks for the tip. I think this is the best A/C alternative I have
seen so far. I was looking for something portable and enviro-friendly. It
may seem expensive, but probably no more than retrofitting motors, and
evaporators, and compressors, fans etc. I love my electric car, but I don't
have a lot of time to work on it right now. I really only need relief from
the heat for about 20 minutes on the way home in the afternoon. Mornings
are fine even during the worst of Texas summer.
Thanks again, the response to the A/C question has been great. I got so
many ideas in just a couple of days. I am going to try to make it to the
"open garage" on Sunday. I look forward to meeting some of you.

I saw these at a show http://arcticaircooler.com/ so I started making my
own. The guy said he went thru eight designs before he got it to work well.
I tried two different methods and one seems to work ok. I never quantified
it in any way but I think it would certainly help reduce the heat for a
short while. I think it's worth pursuing (and so did the guy that made it a
business.) Btw, they start at over $400.
