1/0 is generally considered too small, and 4/0 is probably too large.
Using mixed cable diameters is not a good idea, but probably ok. 4/0 is
rather hard to work with. My recommendation is use 2/0 for the
motor/controller connections. You can use 1/0 for the batteries if you
have it available, but 2/0 would be less lossy.
