Rob,
Sounds like you are actually just overloading your Astrodyne unit. The
biggest Astrodyne that I saw listed was 200w, so sounds like you need
more. Take look at
http://www.trcelectronics.com/Meanwell/sd-350d-12.shtml for a meanwell 350
watt unit. They will sell individual units for $147 plus shipping, so it
might be your best bet.
