it turned out Fox & Enterprise do not rent Prius, 
and Hertz has one that is NOT available.

Well, after the article in last week's Wednesday newspaper rating the
Toyota Prius as the number one car in America for MILEAGE, RELIABILITY and
RESALE value,... I then started looking for one.

I don't know about reliability, but the resale value seems to be only about
$1000 a year depeciation for one in good condition.    WOW !

Next week GF1 & I are going to tour San Antonio's Spanish Missions and the
2000 acre Toyota Tundra Plant site, which is the most modern automotive
plant in the world they say.

I want to rent a TOYOTA Prius for the trip to TOYOTA , so to no avail, I
called every car rental place in the book ( ~ 150 listed ) and got a very
cold response from most, saying "oH NO, the banks won't those weird POSs
for us,... call someone else."   I was stunned by more than one negative
response to my request to rent a Toyota Prius from these uninformed people
at the rental lots.

Does anyone know where I can rent a TOYOTA PRIUS in or near Austin ??
There's $50 in it for the right referal by this Saturday the 10th of March.
