zebras are only the coolest electric cars ever, and there is a dealer for them in Austin. they go for under 10 thousand dollars but they can be clocked at over 40 miles per hour and can go pretty far on a charge. but, i advise u to wait until 2009, when zap comes out with a lotus built electric SUV that has 644 horsepower, can go 350 miles on a charge, and all in lots of luxury. but, 60 thousand dollars is its future pricetag.

Thank you for the comments and information regarding speed limits and NEVs in Austin. Can someone comment on the new Zap Xebras coming to Austin? After looking at ZAP's web site and the specs for the Xebra my initial thought is that the Xebra is a little faster (up to 40 mph, range of 25 miles per charge) NEV? Is anyone familiar with ZAP Initimdator. I read somewhere on the web that the Intimidator was/is a NEV. But, it looks like it has been discontinued.
Thanks,
Del Edelman
