Hi all,
About a year ago, a guy found me through the EAA web site (alamo city chapter), and offered me a free GE Elec-Trac riding mower. I drove the 45 minutes to go pick it up, and found it was in pretty poor shape. Not being able to refuse the price, I hauled it home. Aside from making a nice Halloween decoration with Mr.Scarecrow, it's served me no purpose. As such, I would like to offer it free to a good home. It's a 12 hp (equivalent) Elec-trac, from the '70's. It's really rusty and the seat fell off BUT it does have a 3 speed transaxle and (I think) about a 6HP motor. No mower deck and no batteries. Some sort of charger on-board, but the wasps scared me away last time I went to look at it.
More free stuff: I have a large rubbermaid tote full of O and OO gage welding wire. Lots of pieces and stems. I got this from an Austin EV'er about 2 years ago when I was building mine, and found some useful pieces. I added what I had left over, so it's probably got more in it than when I started. This would be good in case you run just a little short, or need some sacrificial pieces to try your crimpers or to hook up a motor for testing. I didn't have it in me to turn it in for the scrap copper $$, and if I give it to you, you have to promise not to do that either. No picking- you have to take the whole box.
You'll need to arrange pick up of the above two items (me no ship). I live in New Braunfels.
Not free: Lack of time has forced me to sell my EV. It's a 92 Celica. Drives, but needs new batteries. Please see my ad on the Tradin' Post at: http://www.austinev.org/evtradinpost/index.php?method=showdetails&list=advertisement&rollid=1488&fromfromlist=classifiedscategory&fromfrommethod=showhtmllist&fromfromid=17
I don't know if the above link will work, if not, just look under cars for sale and you'll find the 92 Celica down a ways.
Best regards, Jim Seibert
