The front bearing failed on 183 wed. I was coasting at about 25 when the
motor locked up. I can see the alum. 'fan' in the cooling vents near the
trans is not straight, but ragher leaning to 1 side. I took the brush
cover off and found 2 loose pcs of bent, torn copper(about 3.8" wide, 
about
1/8 thick and 1 to 1.5" long, bent into a c shape). The comm does not 
look
damaged, and I touched the motor just after it stopped and it was not

Im afraid it will not be repairable.
I called a place in Dallas but the shipping on an iffy repair on top of
replacement is what Im trying to avoid.

I'll try to remove the motor this weekend and it its not too torn up
