Hmm. A little clarification needed there; I didn't say that quite right.
What I meant to say is "which will *now* also fit in a 14-50 outlet"
because the neutral has been removed. In the old and new 50-amp standards,
the neutral is straight. The plug in the picture was designed to be built
to fit a 14-30 or 14-50 (both neutral blades are supplied in the kit), but
not both at the same time.
By removing the neutral pin, it will indeed now fit into either socket,
which besides removing the temptation to use it if it's reused later, it
obviously makes the plug more useful.
