We entered Tweety in the 8th Annual Pontiac Car Club Classic Car Show
this weekend in Seguin, Texas. There were about 100 cars there, mostly
meticulously restored vintage cars, muscle cars from every era and even
modern cars such as the 550 HP Mustang GT. Needless to say, Tweety was
the only electric car there (the golf carts used by the show organizers
don’t count – they are not cars). Even so, Tweety pretty much stole
the show. There was a relentless constant crowd surrounding Tweety.
We handed out at about 120 flyers on Tweety. We also had a binder with
a facing page that stated, “Tweety is not little because it is
electric. It is electric so that it can be powerful, efficient and
little at the same time. The following pages are examples of larger /
full size electric vehicles…”
The binder contained lots of pics and text from John Wayland’s website
(plasma boy racing) and the Car and Driver spread on John’s White
Zombie. It also had pics and info from the KillaCycle website. Also
included were pics and text from Phoenix Motor Cars, Tesla, and
Commuter Cars.
This seemed to cover all bases, if someone had difficulty grasping the
benefits of a personal commuter car we could show them that electric
drive is not limited to that. It was an exhausting day. The crowds
never let up. Heidi and I both were talking typically to more than one
person at a time. After all that, I don’t recall anyone who did not
walk away totally astounded. Most all was flabbergasted that electric
is not already main stream. Having Tweety there makes it easy - they
are there looking at a real EV that commutes 500 miles per month and
routinely spanks hot street cars while doing it! Having information
about the Zombie, KillaCycle and others solidly drove the point home
that Tweety is just a miniscule tip of the ice berg!
Although, Tweety is used to spontaneous car shows, this was Tweety’s
first registered big car show and I have to say it was an absolute
total success!
By the way, Tweety went home with a second place plaque. :)
Stay Charged!
