As a reminder to anyone who's interested, this weekend AustinEV is
having a general meeting and as we're getting into what's typically our
busiest part of the year, we'll have a bit to talk about. (skip to the
end for details)
Most importantly, we've got our two big shows coming up, the Roundup in
Fredericksburg later this month (www.theroundup.org) and the Maker Faire
in October. We'd like to do the Sustainable Shoppers Ball again as it
was a big success last year, but that's about 3 months out.
The Roundup will be our typical annual show; we'll hopefully put
together a list of people and vehicles that can attend, and try to work
out transport and other logistics.
The Maker Faire is going to be a pretty big deal and could result in
some good exposure for our group. In addition to showing hopefully 2 or
3 of our vehicles, we'll be participating with Calcars in converting a
Toyota Prius into a plug-in hybrid, and joining us will be Jim Philippi
from Houston (who has performed this conversion on his own car) and
Darren Overby who owns the Prius we'll be working on. Both of them plan
to be in attendance at the meeting on Saturday, and we'll get a chance
to work out how the weekend will go in October. We'll be doing the whole
job during the Faire -- no pressure, right?
I've got some pictures that I took of the area where we'll be setting up
at the Faire; I'll show these at the meeting. It's going to be
"interesting". It's at the Travis Expo center for some reason, so the
setting will be kinda ... well, rural.

Meeting details:
Saturday, Sept 9, 3:15 - 5ish

We've been told we need to be out by 4:45. We'll most likely (perhaps
already by that point) reconvene in the parking lot around the cars.
We'll get a look at Philippi's Prius and get an idea of what is to be
done at the Maker Faire.
Hope to see everyone at the meeting!
