Scott,

I'd have to see a wiring diagram.  There is a small relay for the KSI, but
that is not a power item.  The purpose of the contactor is to cut all power
to the controller and you don't want motor current going through a small
relay.

I'm very happy with my push button bypass - it works fine.  Even better:
it's a big red button.  I've always wanted a big red button on my dash
board!  I think I'll label it "passenger eject" or "turbo."  I'm open to
suggestions.  It's those little things ;)
