Rob:

I don't know yet about the controller. I've heard good things about the
Zilla but their website indicates that it will be a long wait. I want to
leave that option open even if I must use another brand now.

Nice blog, by the way.

George,

I'm using the Clutchless pattern from EVAmerica and am very happy with it.
What controller are you planning to use?

You can see lots of details (including pictures of the coupling) on my blog
RAVolt.com

Hello:

I'm planning my first EV, a 1972 Porsche 914. I like the clutch-less design
offered by EVAmerica. I seems to deal with the main objection to

the clutch-less idea i.e. starting off without a jolt by using the springs
in the clutch disc to absorb the shock. Does anyone have any experience with
this?

I'd hoped to find a converted 914 to study but there doesn't appear to be
any in Texas. I'll probably use the Voltsporsche kit from ElectroAutomotive
as a guide but I want to have flexibility in choosing individual components,
including batteries.

Lots of work (and fun) ahead.George Mullins
