Heh... I had not thought about that.   However once you step on the
clutch to disengage the energized system, the Anderson connectors will
absorb the plasma fireball, so you could then turn off the key to the
car to disengage the main contactors, before releasing your foot to
re-engage the Anderson disconnect.
