[ausev] EV tires

Remember to be safe.

The more over vehicle gross weight that you are, the harder it is to STOP
with the brakes you have.

Being over GVW is also harder on the frame and suspension and wheel
bearings.

I'm converting a 1977 Honda Accord hatchback that has a empty weight of 2000
lbs and a GVW of 2800.

I'm using an AC system so that I can have regen braking and also will use 13
12 V sealed lead acid batteries that weigh around 67 lbs so that my GVW will
be only 200 lbs over the limit with just me in the car.

This is similar to the Solectria Force.

Take care,

Kevin

I hear a lot about the LRR ability of tires for EVs but not much on tires
that can handle the additional weight after conversion. I read that the
GAWF/GAWR ratings are mostly about the ability of the tires provided by the
factory to handle the weight. Supposedly the springs, shocks, etc can handle
more, I hope so because I'm having a hard time coming up with a plan that
won't result in 600 or so lbs over GVW.
