[ausev] Austin Energy Green Choice...

Exactly!
In the long run you end up saving money, because the other methods involve
expendable materials, that have to be trucked to the plant, or waste
materials that have to be removed.

I don't object to marketing wind energy. I object to:
1) The only company in town that sells electricity is spending advertising
to get people to use less.
2) Telling people they are buying green, when they are signing up for a
rate hold.
3) Having to decipher the gobbledygook instead of plain facts.

My son-in-law has been involved in setting up wind farms between the
Washington State and Flatonia, Texas.
They now live in Lubbock, and I think the landscape between Abilene and
Snyder was improved by those 350 foot ballerinas. And the town of Snyder
is now a boom town. This is good. But the fact remains that we don't need
to pay extra to "help the electric company" buy it, it makes sense for them
to buy it. 20 years from now it will be seen as the smartest thing they
ever did.
