[ausev] DC or AC motors - which make the best generators?

Some distinction should be detailed here.
1. An AC motor generator is a set. It is an AC motor driving a 
generator. At least the last time I worked on them.
Or if misconstrued as an alternator, which is on an automobile it is a 
mechanically driven
AC generator rectified to DC.
2. An AC motor is not a generator
3. A DC motor can be a motor or generator, driven by some mechanical force.
I mention this because your query is a bit confusing in the sense you 
seem to be confused about motors and generators and the distinction 
between AC and DC.
If I'm incorrect please accept my apology.
