[ausev] Battery Source in Austin

The central BMS is still very much in development, so what it will
provide is not entirely clear and may in fact still be somewhat open to
suggestion. It will accept SMBus communication from each of the module
boards ("MCMs" aka "Monitoring and Control Modules", not a great name)
and provide a single output data stream with CAN. What other outputs it
will provide (perhaps for controlling a contactor or basic instrument
panel lights, etc) is not yet established.
Currently, all that exist are the MCMs themselves, and these only in a
prototype state. Release of the "official" product is imminent however.
They support up to 4 series cells (of an arbitrary parallel count),
provide cell-to-cell balancing within the module, and individual cell
voltage measurements. They also have hookups for up to two temperature
probes. I've had one of the prototypes in my hands; they're pleasantly
small. A little larger than a playing card.
