Folks,
Sorry to be adding this so late, but I only last night got confirmation
about it. Stony Point high school in Round Rock is working on
improvements to their solar car from past years' competitions, and are
building a new "Advanced" division car for the Dell/Winston School Solar
Car Challenge (http://www.winstonsolar.org/challenge). They've asked
about the possibility of assistance from AustinEV, and I've invited them
to present their case at our next meeting.
They're working as hard as they can to build a carbon-fiber race car
with hand-laid cells, and everyone's learning as they go. It's a
fantastic opportunity for the students and the school, and I think it's
a good opportunity for us to help and to try to make the most of the
project for the students.
There will be at least one member of the project (most likely an
instructor) at the meeting to discuss their plans, current progress,
areas where they could use some help, schedule, etc.
