[ausev] The case for electric

Hi all,
In the past (going back a year to a few years), I've seen various cost comparisons making the case for EVs vs. traditional ICE (internal combustion engine) vehicles. From those at that time, it was evident that EVs are more costly up front, but (based on my average expected usage) would break even in a 3-4 years. Diesels seemed like a better alternative at the time, but due to limited models available, I still drive gasoline-based vehicles. And I work from home anyway.
Now, with gasoline prices ascending rapidly, I'm wondering if any of you have a more up-to-date comparison/analysis for EV's vs. ICEs. I expect initial costs to be higher still, but I'm expecting the break-even point would be much sooner. I am just not intimately familiar with the true costs to build/own EV's so that I can compare these easily. Any info on this available anywhere?
Cheers,
-Neil.
