I have the same problem.  I'm supposed to keep my foot under control 
so the voltmeter doesn't sag below 300 volts (in my case).  That's a 
pain, especially when I'm at a light next to a teenager.  I've 
dreamed of a controller feature that would limit current draw to keep 
the voltage above 300V unless I press the Battle Short button.
