[ausev] Looking for terminology

Well, there you are! A T-Zero trailer on a Rav4 EV.

Thanks for the link. I had forgotten about that. Now I've seen the
pictures, I do recall Darell and Tom talking about it. I guess I
missed the significance at the time, as the traiilers didn't make it
into production. I wonder if Tom still has it? I'll ask.

It does, but it kinda soft-pedals the Prius's way of doing things.
It may be out of line moneywise for the individual conversion, but
the technology is interesting. Here's a pretty good explanation:

You're probably thinking of the T-Zero. Some people were talking
about buying a T-Zero trailer and modifying it to fit a RAV4. I
don't think anyone ever did that. There's a photo of a T-Zero with
its range-extending trailer attached on the following web page:

That trailer had steerable wheels controlled by a computer that
sensed the position of the front wheels and did the right thing,
whatever that is. They had movies on the web of a T-Zero with its
trailer driving backwards through a slalom of pylons and another of
the whole rig parallel parking, but I can't find them now. A really
great idea, and these guys are still around.
