Making cardboard cutouts from the battery size # on the manufacturers
site helps with battery placement.

peak.   Weight 38 pounds.  I can't seem to find any spec sheets to see
exactly the torque or HP at 36V or 48V.   If you email them at

Spec sheets for the Advanced DC #AOO-4009 Motor, 24-48 VDC seem to
indicate that it could work too...

As for cost... you can figure out battery costs, a new motor looks to
be $700, wiring and SW80 contactors would be like $150, and a cheap
new 400A motor controller seems to be $365:

Though from looking at the EV Album, it appears that most of the other
lawnmower people did not use a motor controller.  The motor is just on
all of the time then?  I'm not sure how a lawnmower works, but if it
has a clutch and some sort of gearing, then you might could get away
without using a controller.
