Subject: [alg] Texas LinuxFest
To: alg at austinlug.org
Greetings,
Just wanted to help spread the word that we're trying to put together
a Texas LinuxFest (current working name) and we need volunteers to
help make it happen. If you're familiar with community open source
conferences like SCALE (Los Angeles) or the Ohio LinuxFest, we think
Texas needs something similar. Essentially it's an open source
conference, where people get together to talk about what they're
working on, share ideas and have a good time. We're looking at Austin
for a variety of reasons, and would potentially like to do something
next spring.
If you're interested (even potentially) in helping out with such an
event, or just wants to keep on top of the news about it, is welcome
to join the discussion at our Google Group:
http://groups.google.com/group/texaslinuxfest
Right now we are still in the planning stages, so we welcome any
feedback or suggestions you may have. We are still formulating
everything from venues to program to sponsors. All input is welcome.
If you can help spread the word across Texas, that would be great.
The more people we can get involved, the more likely this event will
happen. Feel free to contact me if you have any questions whatsoever.
Thanks for your time,
Matt Ray
