From Dan Petit. Feb 24th, 8;55pm

I had the opportunity several years ago to scan a Prius which had the
Hymotion pack installed.
The battery blocks were closely monitored by the Hybrid Battery
subroutine. It is likely that if any replacement blocks are installed,
their voltage should match the remainder of the pack. You can not
upgrade a weaker block to match the remaining blocks, but you might be
able to downgrade the charge of a better-condition block to the
remainder of the blocks.
This is easily monitored with the appropriate model year authorization
from Toyota within the pack. However, if the Hybrid Battery subroutine
decides to "sequester" all datum, then access has been denied due to OEM
pre-conditioned safety protocols.
The 12 volt battery is also critically important in that the
"conductance" as easily measured with the Genisys for that
authorization-year must be generally as good as a two year old or newer.
Honda traction batteries are also dependent on a minimum functional
"conductance" value in order that the main traction battery be recharged
via regen. The Honda system is superior in that if the traction
battery indicator does not go above the two or three lowest "state of
charge" increments, then it is likely time for a new 12 volt battery.
My advice is to first check the 12 volt battery to make sure that the
case date is no older than 3 calendar years. It may actually be
completely "dead" and you would not otherwise know it in a Prius except
for other electrical anomalies.
Dan Petit.
