Aaron,
You are kidding, right? How can you think I would leave this group out of
anything having to do with electric vehicles or our environment. I really
hope your kidding because I do not want anyone offended or getting the wrong
idea. To that, I sincerely apologize for offending you. This is our
future, our way of life and our living not a fad. NEVs, Highway Speed Cars
and Trucks sold and home grown redeemed vehicles are all an essential part
of what I do. The more we do as a group, helps us move our agenda forward
in taking care of the very air we breathed. I really hope your kidding
because that was the furthest thing from my mind.
I believed it went without saying that I expected AustinEV to be there. Yes
I need our group to be there. This is where I chose to break the news of
the concept and the date for the event. We need to rally support for this
bill from around the state not just Austin. These bills mean a lot to the
EV community. It opens doors for rebate money for new purchases and
conversions. The manufacturers I listed are the ones that benefit from
these bills. The ZEV Program issues credits to the manufacturers that they
in turn sell to make these cars and trucks more affordable. If this is
handled correctly we might even, since our labor rate is much lower than
California, create jobs. Yes we need you all there. We need to set up the
city hall event after the capitol event. Any suggestions or assistance on
that?
Another part of this is The SolStar Project. A Alternative Refueling
Station. This is before CAMPO and Austin Energy. Once we get closer on
these I will let you all know.
I know there is a growing number of redeemed gas powered cars and trucks in
Central Texas and I want this organization and San Antonio and any others
that you have associations with to participate in this event. Since I am a
member of the Austin group this is where the information starts. I just
joined the SA group and need to contact the Houston (Senator Ellis Backyard)
and Dallas area groups. If there is any other EV Organizations' information
that you are privy to, please assist me in getting the word out to them.

Hi Lionel,
Are you intentionally leaving out the folk who have home built EVs?

Hi ALL!!
Well gang, I spoke to Senator Ellis' office today and we have come up with a
Capitol Demo Day Event. March 25, 2009 at the State Capitol Building. I
have also contacted Councilman McCracken about holding a similar event at
Austin City Hall the same afternoon. I have not received a response yet.
I will be confirming the participation of Phoenix Motorcars with their SUT
and SUV, Zap with The Alias, Miles Automotive with the XS500 and the Tesla
from Barry, over the next few days. Once we have confirmed I will be
putting out a joint Press Release with Senator Ellis and Representative
Strama.

Hi Thanks for the info. But someone had arranged for the owner to be at the
Feb meeting but did not make it. How can I contact him. I saw him on TV
but can't find his name. Does someone have his email or phone number?

I saw a red one in the neighborhood this weekend - personalized plate,
SLR PWR. Perhaps ask the DMV if he isn't already on this list to
answer for himself...?
