I just bought a used 2007 Vectrix and it has amazingly quick acceleration and hill climbing torque.  I rode it about 45 miles on Friday averaging about 40mph with less than an hour of charging during stops.  It was pretty much done when I got home but my Lectra with lead acid batteries has about 1/3 as much range at similar speeds and takes twice as long to charge.  Both cycles carry almost exactly 200lbs of batteries.  Also the Lectra batteries start losing range after about 1000 miles but I expect the Vectrix to go at least 10 times as far before range starts to deteriorate.  I plan on putting as many miles as I can on it during the 1.5 years left on the warranty to see how the ni-mh pack holds up.  If the cells in the pack can stay fairly well balanced they should last a long time.  It is an amazing all around machine for the first product from a new company.
