[ausev] Solar panels

My wife and I are currently in the design process of a strawbale house and
barn in Dripping Springs. In addition to the strawbale we'll have grid tied
solar, solar water heating, and rainwater harvesting for all of our water
needs. We plan to use reclaimed lumber as much as possible.
The architect has built several other strawbale houses in the area
(including his own) and don't need air conditioning or heat for more than a
few days each year, thanks to the thermal mass of the building. The site
plan has the house situated to take advantage of the southern breezes.

When we get started I'll let you know. We're planning to have several
workshops on Straw bale construction.

You might also check our own Hill Country Ecobuilders,

Lloyd Lee and friends have built a net zero house out on Fitzhugh
Road that uses geo thermal for cooling and heating and it also
supplies the hot water during the A/C days. House includes 6KW of
solar panels as well to get to net zero energy usage.
