Pardon the intrusion from a long-time lurker, but I put 2.4Kw of PVs on my
roof two years ago, cash cost $21K. After rebates, tax credits and
incentives, out of pocket = $15K.  Sounds like you have a great utility in
Austin Energy.

PS:  as to washing the panels...for the last three months I have been
shoveling snow off mine!   (Madison WI)
