To answer a few of your questions:

1. What do you like most about EVs?
Convenience, performance, cleanliness.

3. Do you find it a problem to find places to charge your vehicle?
No. All commercial buildings have an outdoor outlet. I always ask
permission to charge at commercial businesses, such as work, grocery and department
stores, etc. I have never been refused.

4. I have seen estimates of about $0.05/mile operating cost, including
periodic replacement batteries. Does this seem close to your experience?
My wife and I drive a specific purpose single occupant fully enclosed high
performance highway electric vehicle. We have been driving it daily since
2006. Our energy cost is 1/2 cent per mile, or 180 miles on one dollar.

5. I see ranges of 40-80 miles. Does this seem reasonable in your
experience?
Yes, however, as a daily commuter vehicle, electric vehicles do not need
the range a gas car needs. That is because fuel for gas cars are only
available at gas stations. Electricity is available at every destination and you
don't have to supervise the "filling" as you do with gas cars. The range and
battery life is dependent on the battery type and chemistry, which is
changeable in most EVs. Batteries with 20 plus year lifespan have been
developed. Volume sales will bring the price down.

6. Are repairs much of an issue?
No. Electric cars require less maintenance than gas cars. There are fewer
moving parts in an electric motor. For example, an electric motor has one
moving part and is generally rated for 100,000 hour lifespan (that equates
to five million miles). A gas engine has several hundred moving parts and
involves combustion.
