Dealerships are closing.  By October 2010, your GM, Ford or Chrysler  
will be much further from a dealership.  This will level the playing  
field a bit, make it more acceptable for new car companies to offer  
service by mail order.

Independent local repair shops will be taking up the slack.  Some of  
them are eager to learn to deal with EVs.  GM dealerships are no  
longer equipped to help much with my Chevy S-10E.  However, an  
independent shop down the street has been getting gradually more  
adventurous in helping me take care of it.
