I believe this may be of interest to this particular thread.  I just 
received a newsletter today from SAE announcing the release of the SAE 
standard for charging plugs.  It apparently is going to be adopted by 
the major auto makers for plug-in electrics.  I don't think I should 
forward it onto the list since it is an HTML email, but if anyone is 
interested in seeing it I will forward privately.  Just contact me 
directly and I will forward the newsletter.
