I am not sure that I would want to subject an EV to use as a backup power source, although I bet it could be done.<br>

We have been working towards a backup power solution, and we are looking at two paths. One involves our 2006 Prius which can act very nicely as a UPS. The other would use transfer circuits and a cheap little Honda2000 generator. Since we already have everyhting we need except for the transfer circuits, this is pretty low cost for us. When th S-10E is up and running it will not be part of that backup power solution.<br>

We could add to the PV systems some backup power capability, but that would be much more costly and require a lot of maintenance.<br>
<br>
We also have 260w of PV on top of our Class B RV, so it (with 420ah of battery) can act as some backup power as well.<br>
