We do clean ours. I am not sure we have any specified frequency, but we just watch to see when they start to look a little dingy.

Whether you get u onthe roof to clean them will depend on your home and the roof itself. We do not have to get on the roof to clean our panels; we do it from a ladder, and make it a two person job. One person with the water and one person with the brush and squiggy.

I know that there are companies that will perform the cleaning, but I suspect there is a large profit margin.
The recent stimulus package is making solar panels even more affordable
which my wife and I are thinking about. I had some questions about
maintenance. Do you clean your panels? And how often? Do you get up on
the roof? Does the installation company have a maintenance contract
available?
Thanks,
John
