I too wish we had had more, but we got the names out there and next event we have we will get a better response. Does anyone else have more pics or video of yesterdays events? Please send them. Thanks again for organizing the meeting at the Capitol and City Hall.
It was great to meet others involved in the EV industry, beyond the
Austin EV club. The exposure at the Capitol was good (especially the
TV coverage), but I didn't speak with any of the congressmen's staff
(was anyone there?). The contact at City Hall was much better and
Aaron Choate and I spoke with (forgot his name already -- Mark Kapner
& Stacy Neef's boss) about their perspective on charging stations
throughout the city. Understandably, they want to encourage off-peak
recharging of EVs and their long-range plans are geared toward this,
but I was glad to hear that he wasn't opposed to our simple grassroots
project of getting local businesses and parking garages to make their
outlets available for EVs as an interim solution. So we'll move
forward with this and hopefully gain more public exposure for EVs in
the near future.
I have larger versions of the attached photos, if you need them.
