I installed an L6-30 in my garage for charging at home and serendipitously discovered a L6-30 in the parking garage at the office. I think the building engineer said that they are used by seasonal cleaning or painting crews, but I can't remember. Probably for a compressor or a lift. I'm not sure how ubiquitous they are, but I can't help wondering if there isn't a reason they would put this plug in all the garages at our complex. Maybe someone in the trade would know, but I would certainly try to use something commonly found in parking garages and just happened to luck out.<div>
<br></div><div>I also carry an adapter that can be converted to a number of the more common "dryer" outlets with a screwdriver. NEMA 6-50 and 6-20 seem to be the most common. A full set of adapters like Brian's is an expensive proposition, so I'd tailor it to what you know you need.<div>
